Healing Sessions

Tom Wilkinson's,  life journey has taken him from an artist, to faculty member at four colleges and universities, to a corporate manager, to a college and university administrator, and back to an artist. Tom has always been drawn to a holistic approach to life and nearly 20 years ago he became interested in energetic and alternative healing and pursued various methodologies. In the past six years Tom has received the Munay-ki nine Empowerment rites based on the initiatory practices of the Q’ero shamans of Peru and completed the two year Gateway School of Shamanism program in Charlottesville, VA under Deborah Wray, a former senior faculty for Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Healing The Light Body School. In addition, Tom has also taken “graduate” courses in “advanced dreaming and manifestation” through the Gateway School and studied in Peru with Don Theo Parades, Ph.D. an anthropologist and Shaman. In pursuit of the Shamanic way, Tom has participated in Shamanic ceremony in a number of sites in Peru including the Temple of Wiracocha and Pisca, both in Cusco, Lake Titticacca, and Machu Picchu.

Tom’s return to art has focused on light and energy. His works have been on display in a number of galleries and organizations in the New River Valley and he is a permanent artist at the Rockfish River Gallery of Fine Art and Exquisite Crafts in Nelson County near Wintergreen. His original paintings of the seven chakras and other works are on permanent display in the community meditation room at the Center for Creative Change in Blacksburg.

A resident of the New River Valley for over 40 years, Tom moved last year with his wife, Connie, to the Richmond, Virginia area to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. This vision of being closer to family manifested in the reality of their grandchildren being able to walk out of their own back yard directly into Tom and Connie’s backyard.
